All-star game 2009

Hey everyone,
It's time for post number deux. On Tuesday, MLB had the "midsummer classic". I don't much care for the all-star game, but I ended up watching it. First off, I really appreciate Obama wearing the sox jacket. In the game, there were some key players missing. I am going to make my MLB all-star teams. I am not saying I'm a baseball expert. I am not saying that these players are the best at their positions. Most of the players on these teams are on for odd reasons.

NATIONAL LEAGUE
1B- Prince Fielder, Brewers. He's a brickHOUSE! (batting .315)
2B-Chase Utley, Phillies. He hates Yankees fans. (and batting .312)
SS-Ryan Theriot, Cubs. I may be a sox fan, but he's having a career year. (batting .299)
3B-David Wright, Mets. He's consistently good.(batting .324)
LF- Ryan Braun,Brewers. Easiest decision. He's the King of Swag. (batting .310)
CF-Shane Victorino,Phillies. The Flyin' Hawaiian. (batting .310)
RF-Juan Pierre, Dodgers. He has a cool name.(batting .328)
C-Brain McCann,Braves. He has an awesome beard. (batting .298)
P-Cole Hamels, Phillies. He's been on and off this season, but overall great. (4.87 era)
P-Tim Limcecum, Giants. Best pitcher in the entire league. (2.33 Era)
P- Treavor Hoffman, Brewers. Hells bells. (1.98 Era)
P-Ryan Franklin, Cardinals. Disgusting facial hair, great pitcher. (.079 Era)

AMERICAN LEAGUE
1B-Justin Morneau,Twins. He's Canadian. (batting .311)
2B-Ian Kinsler,Rangers. He's just awesome. (batting .250)
SS-
Marco Scutaro, Blue Jays. I like the name Marco.(batting .289)
3B- Gordon Beckham, White Sox. He is awesome in everyway. (batting .271)
LF-Matt Holiday, Athletics. I love the A's. (batting .274)
CF- Shin-Soo Choo, Indians. He always kills the Sox. (batting.292)
RF-Jermain Dye, White Sox. He is cool beans.(batting .302)
C- A.J. Pierzynski, White Sox. He isn't afraid of what people think of him. (batting .299)
P-Mark Burhle, White Sox. He has always been our best pitcher. (3.66 Era)
P- Zach Grenkie, Royals. He is just good.(2.12 Era)
P-Matt Thornton, White Sox. Always been underrated. (2.48 Era)
P-Joe Nathan, Twins. He has two first names. (1.31 Era)

I may have been a little biased, but who cares. This is not an Espn blog. There are no Yankees, Red Sox, or Rays on my team. The east coast is overrated.

First post/ Summer

Hey everyone who cares,
My name is Stephanie, I guess I'm a semi-normal 15 year-old girl. I live in Chi-town, which is the best city in the world. I'm going to be a sophomore next year, which is not really that exciting. I have a theory that it is the least exciting year in high school. Here's the deal about my Blog. I'm going to be talking about random things, mostly about sports and stuff. I will also be talking about things that irk me (which happens to be a lot of things). Finally, I will talk about the stuff that happens in my everyday life. I'll try to post everyday, but I am not making any promises.

This brings me to my first post. Summer. I've found out that summer is not all it's cracked up to be. Summer is boring. Here is basically the synopsis of my summer so far. The day that finals ended, I went to the Sox vs. Tigers game. It was fun, except the Sox lost( due to some bogus calls). I did get to see history( Gordon Beckham's first Major league hit) and I met some pretty awesome ball players( Jermaine Dye, Jim Thome, Chris Getz, and Gordon Beckham.)

Then, 3 days later we went up to Milwaukee to see the Sox battle the Brewers. On the way to the park, we brought back some memories by going to Brookfield, WI, the home of the Milwaukee county zoo. We used to go there a lot when I was little, for "test vacations", then we would go to the zoo, and stay a night in Brookfield, then got to the kid's museum in Milwaukee in the morning. Of course, there would be a lot of swimming. Anyway, back to my original story. We went to the game, and of course, i went down by the dugout to go by the players, to see if any of them were signing(only Jayson Nix, which isn't that exciting, but I did meet Aaron Poreda). When I was standing there, I saw a familiar face. It was the one and only Adam Burish, right winger for the Blackhawks. I was so stunned. Luckily, I was wearing my hawks hat that day, and I got it signed. Then, my sister and I decided to go to talk to him. He was the coolest. So we shook his hand, and walked away with big smiles on our faces. That really was the highlight of my day, since the sox lost.

Then, last week, the best thing happened. I MET KASEY KAHNE. Such a great day. We traveled almost an hour away to see him, but it was so worth it. The signing started at 11, and we got there at about 10:00am. The wait in line wasn't even that bad, because it was like the only place where it was acceptable to talk about Kasey Kahne and nascar. There were about 50 people in line ahead of us, and it took about 30 min to get up there. When I saw him, I was shaking. He is so cute. Then, when he was signing my picture, I finally got up the nerve to talk to him. Here is the conversation:
Me: That was a hard wreck last week! I'm glad your ok.
Kasey: Yeah, me too.
Me: If they got something right about the COT, it was the safety part.
Kasey: Yeah, they are definitely safe.
Me: Good Luck!
Kasey: Thanks.
This was one of the greatest days ever.

I finish off with the events of this week. On Sunday, I stepped on some glass in the front room of my house. My little toe was bleeding heavily. It was scary, so i cleaned it out and slapped a band aid on it. Then, when I checked it later, it was still bleeding. So i just left it. Then, on Tuesday, It was still bad, so I went to the doctor. Now I have Sterri strips on my toe, which are like adhesive stitches. I can't wear flip flops, swim, or even take a shower with out wrapping it up like day old pizza. This sucks.
